Lewis Franco: Music

Heart to Heart Talk

(Lewis Franco & The Missing Cats)

A few years ago I was hired to write the songs for a rather unconventional marionette musical about the Noah's Ark story.  The play never came to fruition, but I got some tunes out of it, and three of them made it on to this cd.  My friend Jonathan Herz wrote a fantastic and hilarious script which is languishing in his sock drawer.  Anybody want to produce this play??  Caveat: we don't have any marionettes (thus the fruition problem).

Who’s that drinking at half past two?

Friendly old fella called Noah, that’s who

Feelin just fine, sippin his wine

Ain’t got nary a thing on his mind

Who’s that nappin at half past five?

That’s the only righteous man alive

Noah just goes and chucks his clothes

And dozes (Holy Moses!)

The cat I’m told is five hundred years old, but looks about twice his age

With all this drinkin and all this carousin'

He’ll be lucky if he lives to see a thousand

Noah, shut the door

We’ve gotta have a heart to heart talk

What’s that  racket at half past ten?

Good old Noah drinkin again

Wolfin’ down a Rueben, lightin’ up a Cuban

Betcha by eleven he won’t be a movin’

Now it’s eleven, let’s check him out

Where’s Mr. Righteous?  Half passed out

Back in bed, Somebody said he was

Wearin' his birthday suit (that’s cute!)

The cat I’m told is five hundred years old, but looks about twice his age

Have another Hoagie, light another stogie

Call the doctor he’ll be shocked you’re feeling logie

Noah…. Shut the door

We gotta have a heart to heart talk

If that's what you're callin' righteous then I might just

Call the whole thing off

We've gotta have a heart to heart talk

We've gotta have a heart to heart talk
